July, 2017
Princeton, NJ

PharmaWrite Medical Communications and MedVal Scientific Information Services, Inc announced the promotion of Megan McEntire, PharmD, CMPP, to Associate Director of Scientific Communications.

Dr. Megan McEntire first joined PharmaWrite and MedVal as a PharmD Fellow in July of 2011 where she completed the intensive Medical Communications Postdoctoral fellowship program. During her fellowship, Dr. McEntire gained experience in publication planning, developing scientific abstracts, posters, and manuscripts; planning and implementing logistics for advisory board meetings and competitive surveillance reporting; and conducting gap analyses and key opinion leader (KOL) analyses in the therapeutic areas of pain management, women's health, bipolar disorder, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and oncology. Dr. McEntire was our first fellow to obtain her teaching certificate from the University of the Sciences College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

After graduating from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and concentration in Biochemistry, Dr. McEntire worked in the chemical industry. However, her passion was to help people in the healthcare field, so she returned to further her education at the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2011. Dr. McEntire's passion for helping people on a larger scale led her to the pharmaceutical industry, where she reaches more people by communicating medical information to doctors and patients. She joined PharmaWrite and MedVal in 2012 as an Associate Manager of Scientific Communications, and in 2013 she received her Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) credential through the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP). Dr. McEntire is a member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), the Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO), as well as ISMPP, and she serves on the ISMPP Membership Committee.
